Introduction: High blood pressure is a common disease that can increase the risk of some diseases such as heartattacks, strokes and kidney diseases. Because of its bioenergetic and antioxidant properties, coenzyme Q۱۰(CoQ۱۰) is recommended as an adjunctive treatment in patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and highblood pressure (HTN). The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Q۱۰ supplementation in thetreatment of high blood pressure in heart patients.Methods: High blood pressure is a common disease that can increase the risk of some diseases such as heartattacks, strokes and kidney diseases. Because of its bioenergetic and antioxidant properties, coenzyme Q۱۰(CoQ۱۰) is recommended as an adjunctive treatment in patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and highblood pressure (HTN). The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Q۱۰ supplementation in thetreatment of high blood pressure in heart patients.Results: Several mechanisms have been proposed to explain the blood pressure lowering effects of CoQ۱۰.The most important mechanism is that CoQ۱۰ supplementation may increase antioxidant capacity and improveNO bioavailability and have a direct beneficial effect on the endothelium. Another mechanism of CoQ۱۰involves exerting the effect of angiotensin on sodium retention and reducing aldosterone concentration, therebyinhibiting BP levels. Alternatively, CoQ۱۰ may increase the production of prostacyclin, a potent vasodilator,and increase the sensitivity of arterial smooth muscle to prostacyclin. Other mechanisms that may contribute tolowering blood pressure are the hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects of CoQ۱۰ supplementation.Conclusion: Our study showed that CoQ۱۰ supplementation may be potentially effective in reducing clinicalBP in patients with cardiometabolic disorders, and these effects are more pronounced in people with diabetesor dyslipidemia. Further studies with longer intervention durations and larger sample sizes are needed to furtherdetermine the effect of CoQ۱۰ on lowering blood pressure
