چکیده مقاله:
Along with the rising usage of the internet and electronic devices in the workplace, employees’ use of the internet for non-work-related purposes, which is called cyber loafing, has also dramatically increased. This includes checking personal e-mails and social media platforms, browsing the web, playing online games, online shopping, etc., during working time. Studies have shown that employees’ performance and subsequently organizational efficiency can be affected by cyber loafing in many aspects. Considering this matter, different personality traits seem to have an impact on cyber loafing behaviors. In this regard, the present study investigates the relationship between cyber loafing and Dark Triad personality traits – narcissism, psychopathy and Machiavellianism - with the mediating role of mental toughness. The study was conducted on ۳۶۲ members of petrochemical company in Mahshahr by using the Pearson Correlation Analysis. The results indicate that there is a noticeable relationship between cyber loafing and Dark Triad personality traits. Mental toughness, likewise, plays a significant role in predicting cyber loafing behaviors among employees possessing dark personality characteristics.
