The efficacy of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in Reducing Post-Traumatic Stress Symptoms and Improvement in Attention Bias and Response Inhibition in Children Aged ۷ to ۱۳ Years

The goal of this study was to investigate the efficacy of TF-CBT in reducing post-traumatic stress symptoms and improving attention bias and response inhibition in children aged ۷ to ۱۳. The present study is a randomized controlled semi-experimental study with a pretest, posttest with the control group, and ۳-month follow-up. ۳۴ Participants were selected according to the entry and exit criteria, and after the initial evaluation, the participants were divided into two intervention and control groups by random allocation. The intervention group underwent ۱۶ sessions of treatment. Immediately and three months after the completion of the intervention, the participants were reevaluated. The results show that the TFCBT intervention reduces posttraumatic stress symptoms (p<۰.۰۵), and improves attention bias and response inhibition.
