چکیده مقاله:
Since the demand for sustainability approaches has increased, the term ‘green building’ was introduced as asolution to reduce the impact of buildings on climate change. To enhance the condition of green buildings inCo۲ reduction, the life cycle assessment method is introduced to evaluate a building’s emission in fivedifferent phases, namely raw materials, transportation, construction, operation and maintenance, anddemolishment. This study evaluates two alternatives of an anticipated building in hot and dry climate, from alifecycle perspective using the OneclickLCA application Net Zero Carbon Tool. This tool allowed us toassess the impacts of sustainable material and vegetation on three aspects of carbon emissions namely: ۱)Carbon emissions ۲) Carbon saving and ۳) Net Carbon. As the two stages of the operational stage andmaterial production stage are known to have the most emissions, passive design and using recyclable andenvironmentally friendly materials is suggested. In addition, CO۲ capture strategies are noted to be effective.Consequently, green infrastructures are recognized as the most effective techniques for overcoming climatechange through net carbon reduction
