چکیده مقاله:
Background: The increasing loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta is a hallmark of Parkinson's disease (PD), a chronic and progressing neurodegenerative condition (SNc). Quercetin, a naturally non-toxic flavonoid with antioxidant, anti-apoptotic, and anti-inflammatory effects that falls within the safe dose range, is crucial in the treatment of aging-related illnesses. Methods: Studies with data that were recently published were often sourced from search engines like PubMed, Scopus, and Medline and included in this article. Our search designations were “[Quercetin (Title/Abstract)] AND [parkinson’s disease (Title/Abstract) OR parkinson disease (Title/Abstract)].”Results: By targeting SIRT۱, quercetin is a potential therapeutic approach for treating Parkinson's disease (PD). It has been demonstrated that developing therapies can reduce neuroinflammation, SIRT۱/Nrf۲/HO-۱-mediated oxidative stress, SIRT۱/NF-B/NLRP۳ pathway-mediated PKD۱/CREB phosphorylation and BDNF gene expression, SIRT۱-mediated PKD۱/CREB phosphorylation and BDNF gene expression, SIRT۱-mediated mitochondrial disorders in the dopaminergic neurons, and SIRT۱-PINK۱-Parkin-mediated mitochondrialConclusion: These findings proposed that quercetin may be a flavonoid that can prevent the onset of Parkinson's disease. The mechanism behind the neuroprotective properties of quercetin, however, need more research.
