چکیده مقاله:
Water pollution caused by synthetic dyes, such as methylene blue (MB), is a significantenvironmental concern. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) have gained attention as effectivemethods for dye removal due to their high efficiency and ability to degrade complex organiccompounds. The Fenton reaction, involving the generation of hydroxyl radicals (OH) throughthe reaction between hydrogen peroxide (H۲O۲) and ferrous ions (Fe۲+), is a widely used AOP[۱]. In recent years, zeolites have emerged as promising catalysts for enhancing the Fentonreaction's efficiency and reducing its drawbacks [۲ , ۳]. This paper provides an overview of therole of using nanosized ZSM-۵ type ferrisilicate in the Fenton reaction for the removal ofmethylene blue, highlighting their catalytic properties, adsorption capabilities, and potentialmechanisms. Our research indicates that synthesized ferrisilicate samples exhibit remarkablecatalytic, adsorptive, and stability properties, which make them excellent candidates forenhancing the efficiency of the Fenton process. This paper discusses the utilization of zeolite as a catalyst in the Fenton reaction to enhancethe removal of methylene blue, addressing challenges like: use of zeolites in wastewatertreatment, zeolite modifications for enhanced performance and limitations and challenges facedin zeolite-assisted fenton reactions
