چکیده مقاله:
The effects of exercise patterns on Testosterone to Cortisol Serum have less been studied, and in few studies conducted, conflicting results have been reported. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different movement patterns in submaximal aerobic activities on the ratio of Testosterone to Cortisol Serum in active young men. Our control in this study comprised 9 volunteers of young men with an average age of 24.11±3.88, tallness of 187.77±6.47 cm, weight of 72.77±10.12 kg. These young men attended three periods of aerobic activity including 25 minutes of running at 70% of maximum heart rate with three different movement patterns (Space Ski, work meter bicycle, and treadmill). Blood sample were taken before and just after these exercise periods. To evaluate the changes in Testosterone and Cortisol Serum between exercise periods the statistical method of variance analysis with frequent measurements was utilized, and in order to investigate the changes in the variables under our study, T-student test was used for dependent groups. None of the three variables, i.e., Testosterone and Cortisol concentration and their ratio, was observed to change significantly between exercise periods with different movement patterns (P ≤ 0.05). Testosterone concentration and Testosterone to Cortisol ratio increased considerably after exercise with (space ski, treadmill) movement pattern (P ≤ 0.05), and the Cortisol Serum concentration was observed to decrease just after exercise treadmill with movement pattern (P ≤ 0.05). But No significant change was observed after work meter bicycle movement patterns (P ≥ 0.05).
