چکیده
Introduction: Health equity approaches like the concentrationindex (CI) and decomposition analysis are commonly used toscrutinize socioeconomic status (SES) disparities in health consequences. The Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) ۲۰۱۹findings indicate that the gradient of cancers varies amongstcountries. Using GBD ۲۰۱۹ data, this study attempted to quantify the contribution of the Human Development Index (HDI)as a measure of SES in the inequality of five prevalent malignancies(breast, colorectal, lung, prostate, and stomach). Methods: Data on incidence, prevalence rates, mortality, disability-adjusted life years (DALY), and HDI and its constituentswere collected from databases that were accessible to the public, for each country. MIRs, or mortality and incidence ratios, were then computed. Across the HDI distribution, CI was utilizedto assess inequality in the aforementioned indicators. Thecontribution of each HDI element to the inequality was thencalculated after decomposing the CIs.Results: Incidence, prevalence rates, mortality, and DALYdemonstrate greater values across societies with more elevatedlevels of HDI (CI > ۰, P < ۰.۰۰۱). The contribution of educationfor breast, colorectal, lung, and prostate cancers as well aslife expectancy for stomach cancers was the most considerable. On the other hand, the MIRs were more concentrated in nationswith lower HDI levels (CI < ۰, P < ۰.۰۰۱), and the mostsignificant impact on these MIRs came from income for lungcancer and also life expectancy for lung and stomach cancerand breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer. Conclusion: Based on global indexes of cancer burden, ourfindings show pro-rich and pro-poor inequalities. Some of thesedisparities are caused by HDI and its componentsکلیدواژه ها
