چکیده مقاله:

Background: Prostate cancer is the most common cancer inmen and it is the fourth most prevalent cancer throughout the world. Both inheritable and environmental factors contribute toprostate cancer. Polymorphisms of cytochrome P۴۵۰ (CYP) enzymeshave been known in susceptibility to prostate cancer. Inthis study, the score of rs۷۶۲۵۵۱ genotype, which is one of thepolymorphisms of CYP۱A۲ gene, was investigated in Iranianprostate cancer patients.Materials and Methods: One hundred blood samples wereequally collected from benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) andmalignant prostate cancer. Genomic DNA was extracted and afterPCR and sequencing, the frequency of rs۷۶۲۵۵۱ genotypewas determined in the sample population. Statistical analyseswere done by SPSS software (Version ۲۶).Results: According to our data the frequency of rs۷۶۲۵۵۱ genotypein BPH groups were CC ۱۹(۳۸%), CA ۲۵(۵۰%) and AA۶(۱۲%) respectively and the frequency of genotypes in malignantgroup were CC ۱۷(۳۴%), CA ۲۷(۵۴%) and AA ۶(۱۲%)respectively. Both populations were located in Hardy-Weinbergequilibrium for this genotype. No statistically significant correlationwas found between the rs۷۶۲۵۵۱genotype and the incidenceof prostate cancer (p value = ۰.۹)Conclusion: According the data of this study, the rs۷۶۲۵۵۱genotype of CYP۱A۲ gene was not effective in the occurrenceof prostate cancer in the Iranian population. It is suggested toinvestigate this genotype in a larger statistical population andenter different Iranian ethnics in the study. Study other polymorphismsof the CYP۱A۲ gene is also recommended
