ZnFe۲O۴@Fe۳O۴ Nanocatalyst for the Synthesis of the ۱,۸-Dioxooctahydroxanthene: Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Studies

چکیده مقاله:
This study aims to prepare and evaluate the catalytic advantages of ZnFe۲O۴@Fe۳O۴ in the synthesis of ۱,۸-dioxo-octahydroxanthene derivatives. The catalyst was prepared in two steps (۱) preparation of zinc ferrite ZnFe۲O۴ and Fe۳O۴ nanoparticles by co-precipitation technique (۲) preparation of mixed metal oxide (ZnFe۲O۴@Fe۳O۴). The catalyst was fully characterized by FTIR, EDX, XRD, FESEM, TGA, and VSM analyses. The ZnFe۲O۴@Fe۳O۴ was applied as a catalyst for the ۱,۸-dioxo-octahydroxanthenes. The products were synthesized in significant yields (۸۵–۹۵%) in short reaction times (۱۵–۶۰ min) without laborious work-up. The biological activity of ۱,۸-dioxo-octahydroxant derivatives was studied. These compounds showed antioxidant activity between ۶۴.۴ and ۹۰.۲% and their antimicrobial activity against S. enterica, E. coli, L. monocytogenes, S. aureus, and E. faecalis was investigated.
