Effect of Education and Technology on economic growth: A panel data Analysis for selected OECD countries

The role of human capital and technology in determining growth has been subjected to debate for a long time, from a theoretical basis to empirical testing. This article investigated the impact of human capital and technology on economic growth in OECD countries. The annual time series data for the period of ۲۰ years and applied autoregressive distributed lag approach to cointegration is employed to examine the relationship between human capital, technology, and economic growth. The results of the models showed that human capital have significant positive impact on economic growth. Moreover, technology also shows significant positive impact on economic growth. It can be said that, both human capital and technology are important determinants of economic growth in OECD countries. Therefore, improvement of the educationalsector and more funding for research and development (R&D) to encourage technological innovations are necessary to facilitate economic development and growth of OECD countries.
