چکیده مقاله:

Recently, smart grid deploys by applying modern technologies in substations and power networks. In order to reach smart grid, we need complete information fromsubstations in transmission network to analyze and manage power grid. Thanks to smart technologies these requirements canbe realized. We have to upgrade and retrofit the old conventional substations besides new modern substations. In this paper we describe a project atAzerbaijan Regional Electric Company (AREC) in Iran due to retrofit of 132/20 kV Sardrood substation. The main goal of this project is design and installation a digital system in Sardrood substation to collect all required data and send them to a master substation for remote operation and anagement. By this project the Sardrood substation maybe operated as an unmanned substation and it can be ready for remote maintenance and asset management in smart grid for the future. The important characteristic of this system is installation without unexpectedoutage and it implements for retrofit of existing old substation towards smart grid policies.
