چکیده مقاله:

Weeds are a significant issue in agricultural production, and their control often relies on the use of chemical inputs, which can have adverse environmental effects. To reduce the use of chemical inputs, targeted use of natural resources, such as biological herbicides, is a promising approach. Many studies have focused on identifying, isolating, and applying the effects of plant-based compounds as biological herbicides. However, there has been limited research on the allelopathic compounds of sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea) as a multipurpose plant. Previous studies have shown that aqueous extracts of sunn hemp can positively affect various physiological processes, such as inhibiting or reducing seed germination due to the presence of alkaloid compounds, flavonoids, glycosides, and saponins. This review provides an overview of allelopathy and the effective allelopathic compounds of sunn hemp to explore its potential as a natural resource for weed management.
