چکیده مقاله:
The ancient, traditional use of plants as medicines provided the basis for essential oils and plantextracts to be possibly useful for specific medical conditions, so the resurgence of interest in thenatural control of phytopathogens and increasing consumer demand for effective, safe andnatural products means that quantitative data on plant oils and extracts arerequired.Dalbergiasissoo Linn (Synonyms-Shisham orSisam), a large deciduous tree foundthroughout Iran and India, has been reported in folk medicine and is usedmainly as aphrodisiac, abortifacient, expectorant, anthelmintic and antipyretic. It is also used in conditionslike emesis, ulcers, leucoderma, dysentery, stomach troubles and skin diseases[۱].The essential oil from the the aerial parts of delbergiasissolgrown in Iran was isolated byhydrodistillation anddistillation-extraction. Chemical constituents of the essential oil wereseparated and identified by means of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) for thefirst time, and the relative content of each constituent was determined by area normalization.Twenty-one chemical constituents were identified, and their amounts accounted for ۹۱.۵% of thetotal composition. The main components of the essential oil were ۱۰-Methylnonadecane(۹.۲۳%), Farnesane(۶.۷۵%), ۴-Methyltetradecane (۵.۵۲%) and Phytane(۶.۷۵%).
