چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: Cancer immunotherapy is an emerging field in the fight against cancer that utilizes the power of the immune system to target and destroy cancer cells. Biotechnology has played a pivotal role in the development of cancer immunotherapies by providing tools and techniques to better understand the immune system and identify therapeutic targets. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of biotechnology in cancer therapy. Methods: The terms "biotechnology and cancer therapy" were searched for in PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar, and articles were reviewed. Results: Biotechnology has led to the development of several immunotherapies, including immune checkpoint inhibitors, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy, and cancer vaccines. These therapies have shown remarkable efficacy in the treatment of various types of cancers, resulting in durable responses and long-term survival in some patients. Biotechnology has also enabled the identification of new targets for immunotherapy, such as neoantigens and tumor microenvironment components, which are being explored for their potential as targets for new therapies. Conclusion: Biotechnology has revolutionized the field of cancer immunotherapy and led to the development of novel and effective therapies for cancer patients. The continued use of biotechnology tools and techniques will further improve our understanding of the immune system and its interactions with cancer cells, leading to the development of even more effective immunotherapies in the future
