چکیده مقاله:
Many connections are used in steel structures. A connection with a reduced cross-section is one of them. Limiting the plastic moment, this connection makes the columns bear less moment. Using a connection with a reduced section makes the structure this guarantee that the fuse is formed in the reduced area and the column element can play a role as a force-control member. In this research, it has been tried to evaluate the effect of using RBS connections in five and ten-story steel structures. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of using a connection with a reduced cross-section in the distribution of strain energy in the structure. After designing, the structures are modeled non-linearly in perform-۳d software and then analyzed under near-field records. The results have shown that the contribution of strain energy wasted in beams with reduced cross-section connections is more than in structures without this connection, which has caused the rotation in columns to decrease.
