Investigating Sustainable Architecture from an Ecological Perspective

In the present age, the consequence of non-renewable resource usage is one of the overriding problems in all aspects of human life, and the field of architectural construction is not an exception. Nevertheless, using the principles of sustainable architecture is considered a solution to lessen its notorious effects on the environment. One way of achieving sustainable construction is using ecological architecture or architecture based on the environment. This study explains the principles of the ecological approach in architecture in a descriptive way. This research indicates that the principles of ecological architecture can help mitigate the problems associated with the excessive use of nonrenewable energy in construction and minimize environmental damage. Given that the construction of architectural buildings has played a significant role in contributing to a variety of adverse effects on the environment, implementing techniques and using materials based on an ecological approach can be considered a method for sustainable development that promotes harmony and minimizes negative environmental impacts.
