چکیده مقاله:

The inflammatory response is a critical factor in the pathogenesis of coronavirus disease ۲۰۱۹ (COVID-۱۹), wherein the excessive production of inflammatory cytokines exacerbates the severity of the disease. The present investigation sought to examine the associations that exist between interleukin-۲ (IL-۲), C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) as they relate to the accurate prognostication of mild and severe incidents of COVID-۱۹. This research involved ۱۴۱ individuals divided into three categories: those with covid-۱۹ who were hospitalized in the ICU, patients who were hospitalized in acute care, and a group of healthy participants who served as a control. The findings of the study indicate that individuals with severe manifestations of Covid-۱۹ exhibited a reduction in serum IL-۲ levels in contrast to those with non-severe symptoms as well as the control group with no Covid-۱۹ infection. Furthermore, the outcomes of the study indicated significant discrepancies (p=۰.۰۰۱) in the average serum level, ESR, and CRP levels among the intensive care unit (ICU) group as compared to the acute and control groups. This investigation has demonstrated that the concentration of cytokines in the serum may serve as a warning and prognostic determinant of the severity of Covid-۱۹. The research findings suggest that a correlation may exist between diminished levels of interleukin-۲ and the prognostication of COVID-۱۹. The utilization of haematological and serological factors has been demonstrated to be an effective means of assessing the severity of illness and predicting the prognosis of patients diagnosed with COVID-۱۹.
