Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) caused by VPA which is used for treating neurological and psychiatric disorders has been vastly investigated. microRNAs (miRNAs) expressions have also been studied in the liver damage caused by drugs. The aim of the current study was to examine the effect of VPA treatment on miR-۱۲۲ and miR-۱۵۵ expressions in different concentrations and time points in HepG۲ cell lines. The qRT-PCR results revealed that the transcription levels of two miRNAs significantly increased after VPA treatment for ۲۴ h. However, during the extended exposure of VPA for ۱۲۰ h the expression levels of examined miRNAs were down-regulated
