چکیده مقاله:
Today, one of the most important goals for mankind is to decrease the use of fossil fuels and increase the share of energy production from renewable source. Wind turbines play a major role in this field and it is important to design them optimally with long operation life, high performance and minimum costs. Therefore, in this article, the stress and strain analysis of a ۵ MW NREL۱ wind turbine blade with the airfoil from of NACA۲ series type n۶۳۴۲۱, made of aluminum is investigated based on the Blade Element Momentum (BEM) theory. The effect of various loads, aerodynamics and weight of the blade have been taken into account and also the stress and strain distribution at each blade state in revolution are obtained and critical values are determined. By summarizing the maximum stresses and strains in ۵ of the closest possible steps to have a convergent solution in ABAQUS. The results show that the effect of weight in the stat that it acts as bending moment has the most dominant part in the induced stresses. So, in the process of wind turbine design, one of the main goals should be to reduce the effects of the weight of the blade with solutions such as using composite materials and also reducing the length of its center of mass. For this purpose, the effect of changing the airfoil’s type from NACA catalog and reducing the weight of the blades have been discussed
