چکیده مقاله:

Radiofrequency ablation is a cancer treatment method widely used to treat different kinds of cancer. Despite having several advantages, this technique cannot be used to cure large cancerous tumors completely. To address this issue and increase the efficiency of RFA, in this study, an axis-symmetric model of liver tissue and the embedded tumor is used to model the whole process of RFA. To raise the efficiency, at the first stage, the RFA is integrated with the PID controller that controls the temperature of a specific point to the desired value during the process. At the second stage, the RFA with PID controller is utilized after injecting carbon nanotubes into the tumor. The results of numerical modeling disclose that implementing a PID controller can increase the ablated area to ۱۱۳۱ mm۲, compared with ۷۲۱ mm۲ without the controller. Also, adding CNT can improve the efficiency of the treatment process by raising the coagulation area.
