Influence of methyl methacrylate content in electrostatic stability of poly (methyl methacrylate-butyl acrylate) water-based latex

Emulsion polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and butyl acrylate (BA) is a significant processfor producing water-based latexes. In the present study, the effect of methyl methacrylate percentage inthe formulation of MMA and BA emulsion polymerization on the electrostatic stability of obtainedlatexes was investigated. The increase of MMA in formulation (from ۳۵% to ۵۰%) caused an increase inzeta potential and average particles mobility (from -۴۱.۱ mV to -۳۱.۱ mV and from -۳.۰۴ μm/s/V/cm to -۲.۴۸ μm/s/V/cm, respectively).
