چکیده مقاله:

The excessive use of Bisphenol A (BPA) in industrial activities has led to its widespread distribution in various environments, including soil, water, air, sediments, human tissues, and others. The release of BPA as a hazardous organic chemical into the environment has caused high health and environmental concerns. Therefore, its removal from aquatic environments is strongly recommended. Design of the experiment and investigate the effect of different parameters such as initial concentration (۲-۱۰ mg L-۱), pH (۴-۱۰), adsorbent dose (۵۰-۴۰۰ mg L-۱), and contact time (۱۰-۶۰ min) were carried out by application of the response surface methodology (RSM). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) suggested that the effect of mentioned operating parameters was statistically significant on the BPA removal. The low probability amount of P-value (P < ۰.۰۰۰۱), the Fisher’s F-value of ۶۸.۶۴ and correlation coefficient of the model (R۲=۰.۹۷۳۸) revealed satisfactory correlation between experimental and predicted values of BPA removal. All the results demonstrate that the AC is an efficient, safe, and efficient adsorbent for removal of BPA in polluted water.
