Experience of using steel shear wall in concrete structures in construction projects in Khomein city

Steel shear wall for the reinforcement of steel buildings in the last half century has received special attention of structural engineers[۱]. Its unique features have attracted more attention, its features are economical, easy to implement, light weight compared to similar systems, high ductility, fast installation, high energy absorption and significantly reduce residual stress in the structure Can be named. All the reasons made us think of studying its use in the repair of concrete buildings. Because this system is light in weight, it does not add additional load to the structure and even with its connections, it strengthens the surrounding beams and columns. the design of this system in concrete buildings does not seem economical except in the case of restoration.In this study, the recent experiences of using steel shear walls in privately owned construction projects in the city of Khomein are reviewed and in the following sections, the study of strengthening and repairing concrete structures will be studied.
