چکیده مقاله:

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have great potential in energy applications and many attempts werededicated to promoting their utilization as active electrode materials. In addition, electrochemicalprocedures were utilized in many projects for the electrosynthesis of organic materials. Therefore, inthis project, different electrochemical synthesis methods for Ni۳(BTC)۲ on nickel foam wereinvestigated. During this work, chronoamperometry (CA), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and linear sweepvoltammetry (LSV) techniques were performed to obtain the best results for MOF synthesisaccompanied by protecting porosity and cavity structure of nickel foam as substrate. These techniquesallowed the formation of MOF at room temperature for a short period. Then, based on obtainedscanning electron microscopy (SEM) images, the LSV technique showed better results than the others. It should be noted that during the LSV procedure, two parameters such as voltage range and scan ratewere optimized. Moreover, the structure and morphology of MOF were characterized by X-raydiffraction (XRD). In addition, Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy showed coordinationstatus between nickel (II) and carboxylate moieties. Also, the pore volume structure and surface area ofNi۳(BTC)۲ were measured by Brunauer- Emmett-Teller (BET) nitrogen adsorption-desorptiontechnique and the comparison between references showed improved results. On the other hand, theperformance of bare and modified nickel foams was compared for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER)with LSV, chronopotentiometry (CP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) whichshowed the great potential of NiBTC/Ni foam in catalytic activity for HER.
