The effect of sexual index promotion package on sexual function, desire, and satisfaction of married people: A randomized clinical trial study

Background: The Covid-۱۹ pandemic has adversely affected various dimensions of life and lifestyles, and sexual life is no exception. The present study aimed to determine the effect of multimedia sexual index promotion packages on the sexual function, desire, and satisfaction of couples during the outbreak of Covid-۱۹. Methods: In this randomized clinical trial study, ۶۰ married people in Qazvin, Iran participated. Participants were randomly assigned to two groups control and intervention. This was a single-blind study. A demographic questionnaire, Larson sexual satisfaction, Hurlbert Index of Sexual Desire, International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF), and Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) was used to collect data. The Chi-square, independent t-test, Mann-Whitney, paired t-test, and Wilcoxon test were used for data analysis. Results: The results showed that the difference between the mean and standard deviation of sexual function, desire, and satisfaction between the control and intervention groups in the pre-intervention stage was not significant (p> ۰.۰۵). But in the post-intervention stage, a significant difference was observed between the intervention and control groups in terms of sexual function, desire, and satisfaction (p <۰.۰۵). In the intervention group, during the pre-test and post-test stages, the mean and standard deviation of sexual function, desire, and satisfaction through the intragroup test were significantly different (p <۰.۰۵). Conclusion: The results indicated a positive and significant effect of the multimedia sexual index promotion package on the sexual function, desire, and satisfaction of couples. Now that the Covid-۱۹ pandemic has adversely affected people's sexual lives, such targeted interventions seem necessary.
