چکیده مقاله:

Introduction:Evidence suggests the role of probiotic bacteria in improving a variety ofbiological factors in the body. The objective of this study was to determine if the probioticLactobacillus acidophilus La۵, Bifidobacterium BB۱۲ supplemented in dairy, can improveweight-loss and biochemical and anthropometric measurements.Search Method: Scientific reports were searched on the PubMed websites from October ۱,۲۰۱۰, to February ۲۸, ۲۰۲۲. These studies included data on probiotic dairy consumption onweight-loss and biochemical and anthropometric measurements with a weight-loss diet.Results:Seventy-seven studies on probiotic dairy consumption on weight-loss were identified.Twenty-three relative publications were eligible for systematic review. Finally, after applyingthe inclusion and exclusion criteria, ۵ randomized clinical trials were found and the followingresults were obtained from probiotic dairy products consumption on weight-loss andbiochemical and anthropometric measurements:A weight-loss diet combined with probiotics dairy products (Lactobacillus acidophilus La۵,Bifidobacterium BB۱۲ supplemented) improves body composition, increases the abundance oflactic acid bacteria and short-chain fatty acids, significantly decreased triglycerides, lowdensitylipoprotein cholesterol levels, and body mass index, and significantly decreased fatpercentage, waist circumference (all P< ۰.۰۵) and systolic blood pressure (P = ۰.۰۳۵).Also, a statistically significant reduction were observed in anthropometric measurements (P =۰.۰۲۴), significant improvements in cardiometabolic risk characteristics (P = ۰.۰۱۸), decreasein total cholesterol (P = ۰.۰۲۴), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (P = ۰.۰۱۸), homeostasismodel assessment of insulin resistance (P = ۰.۰۰۲), ۲-h postprandial glucose (P < ۰.۰۰۱), andfasting insulin concentration (P = ۰.۰۰۲).Conclusion:According to the findings of this review, probiotic dairy products, as a high proteinand calcium products enriched with probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus La۵,Bifidobacterium BB۱۲), accompanied by a low-calorie diet, might have beneficial effects onanthropometric and biochemical indices.
