چکیده مقاله:

Nepeta sahandica is one of the native species of East Azerbaijan province and is distributed at altitudes of ۳۵۰۰ to ۳۶۳۰ meters on the northern slopes of Sahand Mountain. The current study was designed to evaluate some phytochemical properties and antioxidant activity of N. sahandica. For this purpose, total phenol, flavonoid, and antioxidant activity of different parts (flowers, stems, leaves, and roots) of N. sahandica were measured by Folin-Ciocalteu, Colorimetric, DPPH, and FRAP methods respectively. Based on the results, the leaves extract was found to be richest (۰/۰۷۷ molar quercetin) in flavonoid compounds. In contrary, the leaves extract had lowest (۰.۱ molar GAE) total phenol content. The antioxidant activity of extracts demonstrated a linear relationship with their total phenol and flavonoid content. based on the obtained results N.sahandica could be considered a new source for both medicinal and industrial uses.
