چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objecteive: Graduates of master's degrees and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in basicscience fields, especially medical bacteriology, who have been studying and acquiring skills for years inmedical sciences schools across the country, face many obstacles to employment after receiving theirthesis .Recently, a statistic has been published by the Ministry of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfareabout the unemployment status of university graduates in various fields, which is based on the results ofthe last general population and housing census of ۱۳۹۰ by the Statistics Center of Iran. Based on this, there are a total of ۷۶۸ thousand ۵۱ unemployed university graduates in the country, of which ۲۰۷thousand ۳۱۰ have post-graduate degrees, ۵۰۵ thousand ۱۰ have bachelor's degrees, ۵۲ thousand ۱۶۹have postgraduate degrees and professional doctorate, and ۳ thousand ۳۸۸ people also have specializeddoctorate degrees. In this study, an attempt has been made to compare the degree of satisfaction of thegraduates of the master's course and also the Ph.D. in the field of medical bacteriology in relation to thetime of study and also the employment in the profession related to their field after graduation in Iran andthe graduates of other countries. Methods: In this study, information collection forms were designed in both Persian and Englishlanguages, and then information was given to students in different groups. After completing the collectionof questionnaires, the obtained information was entered into the SPSS software and the percentage offrequency related to the answer to each question was determined. Results: In the current research, ۳۰ graduates from Ph.D. and master's degrees in medical sciencesuniversities of Iran, the United States of America, and China were included in the study and informationforms related to them were collected. The number of graduates examined separately in America was ۹people (۵ master's degree, ۴ Ph.D.), China ۱ person (only master's degree), and in Iran ۲۰ people (۱۲master's degree, ۸ Ph.D.). In the examination of the answers given to ۹ questions related to suitableconditions for finding a job, employment in a field of work appropriate to their field of study, and thelevel of satisfaction with it, it was observed that the answers of all doctoral graduates in the United Statesand China were positive (to except for one person who answered two questions negatively). This is whileonly ۴ Ph.D. graduates in Iran were asked ۹ questions, they answered positively to one question and theother ۴ answered completely negatively. Almost the same results were obtained in relation to thegraduates of the master's degree, and the degree of satisfaction of the American graduates with the existence of job opportunities suitable for their field of study was very high. But the degree of satisfactionof graduates in Iran was lower because they face many problems to find a job suitable for their field. Conclusion: The lack of job positions suitable for graduates has always been a mental concern ofstudents and has become a big challenge after completing their studies. Therefore, the minimumexpectation for graduates of different fields, including medical bacteriology, is to have a job position thatis appropriate for their field of study. This can be possible by relying on the experience of colleagues whoworked in medical schools for many years
