Covid-۱۹ and basal cell carcinoma (BCC) in a case of Ophthalmomyiasis:A Case report

مقدمه : Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is one of the most common skin cancer. It is confirmed that the incidence of BCC has increased worldwide [۱]. Most importantly, Periocular BCC invades orbital tissues that can lead to death [۲, ۳]. Moreover, BCC is the most common periocular malignancy for ophthalmomyiasism. Evidence showed that ophthalmomyiasism is an infestation of mucosal layers of the ocular tissue, including different maggots such as rhinoestrus purpureus, hypoderma bovis, and oestrus ovis [۴, ۵]. Epidemical statistics showed that this disease mostly happened in Mediterranean and southern African countries[۶]. Therefore, the larvae infect external parts like the conjunctiva or internal components such as the eye globe [۷]. Diabetes, trauma, immunosuppressive therapy, and different cancers and malignancies are the main risk factors. In the present study, we have report a ۵۰ years Iranian male with ophthalmomyiasis and BCC.
