Barriers to Access Information

In the past two decades, the deepening of the information revolution has profound effects on people’s social life. During the Information and then telecommunication eras, one must know about information and ways to access it extensively and safely; therefore, having a correct cognition of barriers that exist in the way of accessing and retrieving information, is inevitable. As a great picture has been painted below around the information access usability and emergence, this paper tends to take apart all aspects, creating barriers to access information in all relatable areas. A literature review of papers related to the subject has been done; which took place on several citation databases such as JStor, Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar and Science Direct. The retrieved results have been chosen based on a diverse approach to the subject of accessing information. This study shows that in order to gather different barriers stopping us to access information, we need to specify the research to a unique category.
