"Every Home a Health Base" Campaign: A Community-Based Intervention to Encourage the People of Guilan Province to Participate in Covid-۱۹ Prevention and Control Programs

Background and purpose: This study aimed to design, implement and evaluat campaign entitled "Every Home a Health Base" in order to encourage the people of Guilan Province in Iran to enroll in Health Ambassadors Program. The aim of this program was strengthening Covid-۱۹ prevention programs in Guilan province.Materials and methods: This study is a social trial of the before-after type, without a control group to evaluate the impact of the campaign. Data was analyzed by using SPSS Version ۲۱.۰.Results :The target group of "Every Home a Health Base “campaign was men and women aged ۱۸ to ۵۵ with diploma and lower education and low socio-economic level in the cities of Guilan province. Of the two implemented campaigns, ۷۲.۶% of the participants admitted to register as health ambassadors after receiving the program messages. In the awareness campaign, the highest was ۵۱.۶۲ and in the persuasion campaign, ۵۲.۳۲% of the samples received program messages through health service centers including clinics and health houses.Conclusion: Due to various factors related to public health in the people of Guilan province, health ambassadors can play an important role in restoring, maintaining and promoting community health and especially affect the success of prevention and control of the Covid-۱۹ epidemics.
