Predicting Health-Related Quality of Life in Womenwith Infertility Based on Alexithymia, Spiritual Health,and Sexual Satisfaction Due to The Mediating Role of PerceivedS tigma Infertility and Loneliness

Background: This s tudy aimed to identify the role of alexithymia,spiritual health, and sexual satisfaction due to the mediatingrole of perceived infertility s tigma and feeling loneliness inpredicting health-related quality of life in women with infertility.Materials and Methods: The s tatis tical population includedall infertile women in Tehran in ۲۰۲۰. Among them, ۲۵۰ peoplewere selected by the convenience sampling method. The researchins truments included s tandard ques tionnaires includings tandard ques tionnaires of health-related quality of life (Weber,۱۹۹۲), Toronto alexithymia (۱۹۹۲), Gaur and Sharma's spiritualhealth (۲۰۱۴), Larson sexual satisfaction (۱۹۸۸), Fu's perceiveds tigma infertility (۲۰۱۴) and Ditommasso social and emotionalloneliness scale for adults (۲۰۰۴). The data were analyzed usingSPSS software version ۲۳ and Smart-PLS.Results: The results showed that ۸.۵% of changes in health-relatedquality of life are due to changes in variables of alexithymia(mood dysphoria), spiritual health and sexual satisfaction;that all of these variables have a significant effect on healthrelated quality of life (P<۰.۰۰۱). The results showed that therole of perceived infertility s tigma and feeling loneliness areminor mediating, which means that alexithymia, spiritual healthand sexual satisfaction can affect both, directly and indirectly,health-related quality of life (through perceived infertility s tigmaand feeling loneliness) (P<۰.۰۰۱).Conclusion: Based on finding perceived infertility s tigma andfeeling loneliness as a mediator, it can, directly and indirectly,be involved in the relation between alexithymia, spiritual healthand sexual satisfaction with health-related quality of life inwomen with infertility
