چکیده مقاله:

Background: Endometriosis is an inflammatory and es trogendependentdisease that causes infertility-affects ۱۵-۲۰% ofwomen worldwide- and pain. Since endometriosis is a multifactorialdisease, a definitive and non-invasive diagnos ticmethod is not available for diagnosis of this disease. Geneticfactors play an important role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.Previous royan s tudy on expression of HOX cofactorgenes showed higher levels of two homeobox transcription factorsnamed BARX۱ and PITX۲, in ectopic tissues of womenwith endometriosis vs. normal endometrium. We hypothesizedthat the mRNA of these genes may be found in the circulation ofendometriosis patients. The aim of this s tudy was to inves tigatethe expression levels of BARX۱ and PITX۲ genes in plasmasamples ins tead of endometrial lesions, as potential biomarkersfor noninvasive and early detection of endometriosis.Materials and Methods: We collected peripheral blood samplesfrom non-endometriosis and endometriosis women (۳ ccper person, n=۴, each group), after obtaining written consentaccording to the local ethical approval. The plasma fraction wasseparated by centrifuge. Then RNA was extracted from plasmasamples and the expression levels of BARX۱ and PITX۲ geneswere evaluated by qRT-PCR technique. Results: Our data showed the levels of BARX۱ and PITX۲mRNA are increased in plasma of women with endometriosiscompared to normal women. Conclusion: Current s tudy implies the potential role of BARX۱and PITX۲ genes as sugges ted biomarkers for inves tigation anddeveloping of non-invasive diagnosis methods of endometriosispathology.
