چکیده مقاله:

Background: Negative energy balance in the dairy cows hasvarious reasons such as metabolic s tress, lower body conditionscore, blood glucose is reduced and hormonal changes; especiallyglucagon levels are increased. Increased glucagon levelslead to glycogenolysis, lipolysis, beta-oxidation of fats, gluconeogenesis, and ketogenesis (such as acetic acid, acetone, andbeta-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA)) in the liver. In addition, negativeenergy balance is associated with attenuation in the concentrationof LH surge and reduces the chance of pregnancyat firs t insemination. The aim of this s tudy was to evaluate ofhyperketonemia on the serum levels of oes trogen, proges teroneand pregnancy rate at firs t insemination.Materials and Methods: This s tudy included a total of ۷۰ Holstein average ۳ multiparous cows in one of the indus trial dairyfarms in Isfahan province, Iran. ۱۰ mL of jugular vein bloodwere collected at each sampling time two times: firs t, ۷–۱۴days of pos tpartum to measure the BHBA, and second; at firs tinsemination, to measure es trogen and proges terone hormonelevels. All s tatis tical analyses were carried out by IBM SPSSS tatis tics version ۲۰ and the s tatis tical difference was presentedby P<۰.۰۵.Results: In this research indicated that cows with BHBA levelsgreater than ۶۰۰ μmol/L had lower oes trogen levels (P=۰.۰۳)and higher proges terone levels (P=۰.۰۷) at the firs t time of insemination.Pregnant cows also had significantly lower serumBHBA (P=۰.۰۳) and higher oes trogen levels (P=۰.۰۰۹) thannonpregnant cows at firs t insemination. Conclusion: The present s tudy confirms the negative effectsof the higher ketone bodies on oes trogen level and Pregnancyrates at the firs t insemination in hyperketonic cows
