Effect of volume fraction of ferrite phase on the mechanical properties of dual-phase ۴۳۴۰ steels

Different microstructures were produced by heat treatment of ۴۳۴۰ steel. These microstructures are bainite with ۳۷, ۴۶ and ۵۱ volume percent of ferrite. Mechanical tests were carried out at room temperature. The results showed that yield and tensile strengths, percent elongation and hardness of bainite–ferrite steels decrease with increases in volume fractions of ferrite.
