چکیده مقاله:

Speech might be one of the best advents of humanش beings due to its critical communicative role in individuals’ daily lives. Despite various studies on brain activity during speech production, research on the brain areas associated with speech production is currently insufficient. In the present review, a systematic review has been conducted for the first time to provide information about all brain areas contributing to speech production. As demonstrated in this paper, STG regions, and particularly the left pSTG, have a significant role in speech production, but there have also been three regions that have shown activation during speech production that are not on the STG, namely, Anterior insular and Broca s areas, and the right pSTS. Moreover, there has been an observation that silent, covert, and overt speech have different activation patterns. Moreover, this paper also focuses on speech mechanism and speech development. Additionally, auditory and motor brain regions were associated with speech development.
