چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-۳ essential fatty acid thatcannot be produced de novo by humans. It is usually found in fish and shellfish, as well as in somemarine algae. Like most omega-۳ fats, DHA has many physiological functions and beneficialhealth effects. It is essential for proper fetal neuronal and retinal development and the normalfunction of the brain in adults. It has also anticancer, cardioprotective, and anti-inflammatoryeffects.Methods : : In this study, the salt-tolerant strain was cultured in nutrient broth at ۳۰°C with shakingat ۱۷۰ rpm. After ۲۴ h, the hydrochloric acid treatment was performed overnight at ۴ °C. then, thesediments were collected by centrifugation. Chloroform/methanol (۲:۱) was used for lipidextraction. The lipids were analyzed by GC / MS spectroscopy and FTIR. Glycerol (۰.۱%) wasused as an additive for lipid production comparison under the same conditions. Results : The results of FTIR analysis and GC / MS showed that the strain was able to producedocosahexaenoic acid at a level of ۰.۲۶% of total fatty acids when incubated in a glycerol medium. Some other fatty acid profile changes were seen in the presence of ۰.۱ % glycerol. Conclusion : Altering the conditions and using some additives can change the fatty acid profileproduced by some bacteria and make them a suitable source for the production of this class ofvaluable materials, which of course will require optimization and more research.
