چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objective: Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV-۲) has spread rapidly around the world since ۲۰۱۹, prompting researchers to find a treatment for the pandemic. Molnupiravir is an antiviral drug and an active oral RdRp inhibitor of the nucleoside analogue B-D-N۴-hydroxycytidine (NHC) for influenza that has also been clinically tested in the treatment of COVID-۱۹. The purpose of this review article is to evaluate how Molnupiravir disrupts SARS-CoV-۲ genome replication.Materials and Methods: This study was conducted using articles published in PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus and searching for keywords SARS-CoV-۲, COVID-۱۹ andMolnupiravir. Results: Molnupiravir inhibits viral reproduction by promoting extensive mutations in viral RNA replication. During replication, the virus enzyme incorporates NHC-TP into the newly constructed RNA instead of using the actual cytidine. Molnupiravir can be exchanged between two forms, one that mimics cytidine (C) and the other mimics uridine (U). Virus-correcting exonuclease enzymes are unable to detect NHC-TP as an error. Viral RNA polymerase interprets Molnopiravir-containing RNA, sometimes in the form of C and sometimes U, and causes many mutations, called lethal mutagenesis. Conclusions: Mulnopiravir can be an effective and compatible treatment for the COVID-۱۹ epidemic. Some countries have issued emergency authorizations for the use of Mulnopiravir in patients resistant to other treatments. It can reduce mortality in hospitalized patients and prevent acute infection in infected patients.
