Identification and prediction of psychological indicators (personality, motivation, cognition) in the process of adolescent sports talent identification

Talent identification refers to the process of identifying participants who are currently capable of becoming elite players (Panic et al., ۲۰۱۳; Mohr et al., ۲۰۰۹). This process requires predicting participants performance over time by measuring physical, physiological, psychological, and sociological characteristics as well as technical abilities, individually or in combination.analysis method : In this study, the statistical population of all adolescents participating in sports-recreational (basketball) activities in Mashhad in ۱۳۹۹-۱۴۰۰ will be.In this study, there are ۷ independent variables (۵ dimensions of personality, cognition and motivation), but to ensure the sample size and taking into account the return rate of the questionnaires, ۲۵۰ people will be selected by available sampling method.The Sports Motivation Scale was developed by Plitter et al. (۲۰۱۳). This scale has ۱۸ items that measure the six dimensions of intrinsic, mixed, self-accepting, internalized, external and lack of motivation based on the hypotheses of the theory of autonomy.The Cognition Need Scale was developed by Cassiopa, Cheti, and Cao (۱۹۸۴). This scale contains ۱۸ items (۹ negative items and ۹ items) positiveIn this research, the data will be analyzed descriptively and inferentially on a distance scale using SPSS-۲۵ software.Based on the results, there is a significant relationship between personality index in the talent search process and this component explains ۹۵% of the variance of adolescent talent search.There is a significant relationship between motivational index in the talent search process and this component explains ۸۸% of the variance of adolescent talent search.There is a significant relationship between cognitive index in the talent search process and this component explains ۸۲% of the variance of adolescent talent search.Psychological indicators refer to the capacity of individuals to make positive changes in various areas of behavior and attitudes. Theorists and researchers say that this type of capital has a higher value than human and social capital and even includes these two. By strengthening psychological indicators (personality, motivation, cognition), the process of sports talent acquisition is facilitated.
