چکیده مقاله:

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second and third mostcommoncancer inmenandwomenrespectively, and the fourthcause of cancer death of individuals. Mutations in specific genes can lead to colorectal cancer. UCA۱ is one of the oncogenic genesthat have beenshownto stimulate cell proliferation. mTOR۱is another gene that leads to the growth of cancer cells through anabolicprocesses and autophagy inhibition. Objectives: In this study, we evaluate the expression of these two genes in different phases of CRC, that helps the early detection ofcolorectal cancer which can increase the survival rate. Methods: First, we collected ۲۵ colorectal cancer tumor tissues and ۲۵ adjacent normal tissues as a control group. Then, RNA wasextracted from tissue samples and cDNA synthesized. The UCA۱ and mTOR۱ expression was evaluated in CRC tissues compared toadjacent normal tissues by Real Time PCR.Results: Our results showed that the UCA۱ and mTOR۱ expression in the tumor tissues was significantly higher than in the adjacentnormal tissues (P < ۰.۰۵). There was also a significant difference in Lynph inv and Vescu inv with mTOR۱ expression (P < ۰.۰۵).Conclusions: Ourresultsshowedthat UCA۱/mTOR۱maybe important genes involved in colorectal cancer. mTOR۱wasalso identifiedas one of the possible genes in metastasis of colorectal cancer. Thus, UCA۱ andmTOR۱ can probably be considered as biomarkers inCRC therapy and diagnosis.
