Food security under the Commission for environmental cooperation of Nafta

Food is one of the main items of international trade and food security is closely linked to trade. In this study, the reason for selecting the USA, Mexico, and Canada is that these countries establish the world’s largest trilateral merchandize trade bloc of ۱.۲ trillion $ with no tariffs (US Census Bureau ۲۰۲۰). Hence, this size of trade may have different positive or negative impacts on these countries’. The object of this research is to survey about food lost and waste in north of America, the commission for environmental cooperation (CEC) activities and its measurements for food security And at last to compare CEC 's and totally USMCA roles and plans in this field with other Trade Agreements such as (CETA). Overall the Research study shows that the CEC and its functions such as improving cooperation and clarification about environmental issues like food security can be a good sample for other international trades.
