چکیده مقاله:
The pandemic of the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-۲ (SARS-CoV-۲) is the main pathogenic agent of the rapidly spreading pneumonia called coronavirus disease ۲۰۱۹ (COVID-۱۹) and has been posing great threats to the world in many aspects. Bacterial coinfections increase the severity of respiratory viral infections and were frequent causes of mortality in influenza pandemics but have not been well characterized in patients with coronavirus disease. This narrative, non-systematic review provides an update on the coinfection of virus and bacteria -with an emphasis on bacteria- with SARS-CoV-۲ and summary of their effects on COVID-۱۹, the reasons of coinfection, and the diagnosis to emphasize the importance of microbial coinfection in COVID-۱۹.
