چکیده مقاله:

BACKGROUND: About ۱۰ to ۴۰ percent of infants worldwide have colic in infants. Due to the prevalence of colic and its physical and psychological effects on the colic family, it can have psychological effects on the mental health of parents and in some cases can be an introduction to child abuse. Methods: Therefore, this study was designed to investigate the relationship between parents' quality of life and infant colic. Method: This study was a cross-sectional comparative study that compared the quality of life of parents with colic and non-colic infants in ۱۳۹۸ in the Children's Medical Center Hospital. The study population included parents of all infants with neonatal colic and parents of infants without neonatal colic. The required data was extracted using a pre-designed checklist. The following data were extracted using this questionnaire: Demographic characteristics including age, sex and education, time of birth of the baby, economic status and family insurance support. The SF ۳۶ standardized questionnaire also included: general health, physical function, role-playing for physical reasons, role-playing for emotional reasons, physical pain, social function, energy and vitality, and mental health. Conclusion: Because most infant colic symptoms go away by about three months of age. Health care professionals often advise parents that colic will go away soon, although infantile colic is sometimes frustrating and worrying for parents. Persistent crying is known to be a risk factor for postpartum depression.Chronic stress and lack of sleep due to unbearable crying often waste parents' energy and can lead to postpartum depression, anxiety, anger and guilt. Constant crying increases mothers 'feelings of inadequacy, disability and depression, and exacerbates postpartum depression and has a significant impact on parents' quality of life.
