Determination of Ecotourism Climate Index by Using Geographical Information System (Case Study: Sarab Sefid Rangeland, Boroujerd, Lorestan Province, Iran)

Ecotourism have significant role in economic of any country that some it’s part depend on climate. Thisfactor include some parameters affect on trourism comfort and kind of clothe dressing. The study was conductedusing data from synoptic stations of Boroujerd city in Lorestan province in 2016 for the period 12 years byimplementing Tourism Climate Index (TCI) method. First time this method used by Mieczkowski’s in 1985 toexplore the impact of projected climate change on the tourism climate resource of a sample of tourism destinationsin North America. The climate paramiters include: 5 factors; total rainfall, monthly mean of temperature, mean ofrelative humidity, mean of max of temperature, mean of min of temperature, mean of min of relative humidity,mean daily of sunshine hours and wind speed were assessed by TCI model, systematically. Result showed thatwinter and summer is insufficient to vitit area by tourism because of cold and hot with hight and low humitidyamoung low and higt temperature. This results are for focuses ecotourism but for extensive ecotourism likemountain climbing and perfesional sports, there is no any limitation according to climate factors. Autumn and springseasons are good for visiting according to weather and vegetation cover and colors. Also in this time spring andriver discharge are high water. Best month to visit area due to the climate situation are January, May and October.During this time agriculture production like Cucumbers, Greengage, Beans and so on cause tourism attraction.Genral conclusion exposed national tourism for recreation in this area are very suitable and susceptibility todevelopment are high.
