چکیده مقاله:

Aflatoxins are a family of toxic metabolites which are produced by the fungi Aspergillus parasiticus and Aspergillus flavus. Its contamination is affected by high humidity, high temperatures, insect and rodent activity and inadequate drying of crops. This contamination can occur in any stage of food production Aflatoxins have been considered a major risk factor for male infertility. Some studies indicate that Aflatoxin inhibits the antioxidant enzyme defense system and increases free radicals, resulting in testicular damage and decreased sperm quality and quantity. Moreover, Aflatoxin not only induces testicular oxidative damage but also interrupts testicular testosterone production which is essential for adult mammalian sperm production.
