Investigating the causes of the increase in divorce and the grounds for its occurrence

OBJECTIVE:The family is the first and most stable social institution in which the human identity and socialization of the individual is formed. Conflicts and marital problems between couples are inevitable. Divorce is a serious threat to the family. It is a social phenomenon and originates from society. Among the influential factors of in the field of divorce are the following: Lack of commitment, types of violence, financial problems, failure to meet emotional needs, addiction and etc. Among the causes of violence are addiction, personality problems and misconceptions about family and society. Lack of proper socialization and inappropriate understanding of the values of marriage is one of the important problems in the occurrence of the phenomenon of divorce, which unfortunately, has not received much attention in previous researches.METHODS:Databases used were Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, Science direct, Embase and Article published in English from ۲۰۱۰-۲۰۲۱FINDING:It seems that according to studies conducted among the factors affecting divorce, breach of contract in the form of extramarital sex has the highest percentage. Since the economic independence of women and the problems caused by unemployment among men in some studies have been removed from the list of factors facilitating divorce, so there is a need for further investigation in this area.
