چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Cancer is one of the leading causes of death among children. The aim of the present study is to estimates of incidence and mortality worldwide common childhood cancer and their relationship with the human development index (HDI) in ۲۰۱۸. Methods: This study is a descriptive-analytic study that is based on extraction of cancer incidence and mortality data from GLOBOCAN ۲۰۱۸. The incidence and mortality rates and cancers in children ۰-۱۴ year's distribution maps were drawn for World countries. To analyze data, correlation test and regression tests were used to evaluate the correlation between the incidence and mortality with HDI. Results: The results showed that leukemia (۳۲.۵%), Brain Nervous System cancer (۱۲%), and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (۸.۶%) were the most common cancer and leukemia (۳۹%), Brain Nervous System cancer (۲.۱۸%) and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (۵.۶%) were the most common causes of death due to cancer in children aged ۰ to ۱۴ years. The results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between leukemia (R = ۰.۶۸۸, P <۰.۰۰۰۱) and Brain Nervous System cancer (R = ۰.۶۹۸, P <۰.۰۰۰۱) with HDI index, while there was a negative and significant correlation between Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (R = ۰.۱۵۳, P <۰.۰۵) with HDI index. There was also a positive and significant correlation between Brain Nervous System cancer mortality (R = ۰.۴۲۷, P <۰.۰۰۰۱) and HDI index. Conclusion: In general, the incidence of some childhood cancers in industrialized countries is higher than in developing countries. Therefore, understanding the incidence and mortality of childhood cancer is an important issue for general health and clinical care, and it is necessary to prioritize future research paths.
