چکیده مقاله:

Partial hydrogenation of the ca rbon-to-carbon double bonds in triglycerids, especially of vegtable oils, is a major industry in many parts of the world. Despite its importans, hydrogen ation mechanism is no t completely clarified, until now[۱ ].The edbile oil industry relies he avily on nic kel catalysts to manufacture partially hydrogenated vegtable oil products. These c atalysts offe r several advantages, including high activity, low cost, and case of sepration from the pr ocessed oil[ ۲].Metal oxides are used in heteroge neous catalytic reactions. Large surface area of the oxides can provide a support for metal nano-particles and additives may be used to enha nce catalytic activity[۳]. Generally, the formation of metal nanoparticle on acidic supports always gen erates bifunctional catalysts. Addition of acids or acidic supports is often used to e nhance th e efficienc y of catal ysts for hydrogenation, hydrogen olysis, and hydrocracking processes[۴]. The p resent pape r focuses on the support pH effect on the catalytic hydrog enation of vegetable oil using nano-sized nicke l as catalyst.
