Preparation and Prope rties of S tarch Bas ed-Natrolite Nanobiocomposi tes

For a long time polymers have supplied most of co mmon packaging materials because they presen t several desired features like softn ess, lightness and transparency. Ho wever, increased use of synthetic packaging films has led to serious ec ological pro blems due to their total non-biode gradability. In recent years there ha s been a growing intere st in the use of biodegradable polymers for pac kaging mate rials in order to reduc e the environmental pollution caused by plastic wastes [۱ -۲]. In this study, we prepared well-disperse d starch–natrolite (GPS /Nat) nanobiocomposite . The structure and mo rphology of the nanoco mposite was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), SE M and film properties such as water absorbtion, mechanica l and thermal properties were also measured.
